I'd never read a John Grisham novel so I figured I'd start with one of his earliest. It was clearly in the '80s, which is fine, but I kept thinking, "Man, this would be so much easier if they all had burner phones." But that's on me.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read that has me wanting to read more by the author. While Grisham's main character was a lawyer and worked at 'The Firm' with other lawyers, I wish it would have gone more into detail about the law. I enjoy legal discussions and policy analysis. The cat-and-mouse chase was interesting and kept me wondering what would happen next. So, even though it took me much longer than usual to read the book (it's a 17 hour audiobook!), I really enjoyed it.

I am a big fan of the book. This was my second attempt to read a Grisham novel. It was successful this time around the drama and suspense caught me and pulled me along. The ending was a bit anti-climatic, but definitely worth a read. I found it to be somewhat dry at times, but I had to keep going because I needed to know the next bit of the plot. I would recommend it to anyone.
Pretty good suspense thriller.
Spoilers:
They kind of get away with it. Maybe the mob finds them later on, it's kind of an open ending that way. He DOES get to ruin his wife's life, her relationship with her parents, all the while never telling her about his infidelity. Yay?

Never saw the movie all these years so grabbed the book bc it was on sale for prime day. Book was a great read. Enjoyed enough suspense that didn't give me anxiety. Dope ending.

I think if I traditionally read this book, the first third would have gone pretty slowly. But I audiobooked this one, and it was amazing. Once the book picked up pace, I was on the edge of my seat. There were moments where my jaw literally dropped!! A fantastic, riveting read.

Movie is better than the book. Only moneyball is like that for me.
