I reread this book to prepare for the newest book. I am looking forward to finding out what happened next.

My favorite parts were watching Mitch get wined and dined and courted by the company, his relationship with his wife Abby, and everything in the Caymans. I feel like towards the last 85 to 100% of the book I cared less about the story and it was hard to suspend my disbelief that this guy was so easily able to beat the Mafia and the FBI. Still glad I read it and learned more about the other author who was "found" along with Stephen King. Now I am left with just a strong desire to make a workaholic lawyer family in the Sims, haha.

The ending was anti-climatic. The only thing that gets me through was by imagining the whole characters with the TV series cast (Josh Lucas, Juliette Lewis, etc). Other than that, it's a bit repetitive.

I read this years ago when it first published. I decided to (listen) again before reading the follow up he's written recently. It is interesting since there is new technology since it was written that would help/hinder the two sides but it is still very good. Dirty lawyers, FBI, mafia etc.

sabrina00's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH: 7%

Soo boring..lots of words describing business and law and contracts. Not the legal drama i was expecting

A bit uneven and a few loose threads, but a decent read.

A fun read but by no means the best Grisham novel I have ever read.
