Rina was the highlight of this story, though, though Zed and Esther’s partnership was wonderful too. I also loved seeing previous characters worked into the storyline. The three are pretty much on their own for the entire book and struggle to decide when and where to migrate to join a community. At times I missed the community dynamic the other books offered.

Just FYI, Esther struggles with pretty severe anxiety which could be triggering.

Rina made this one high stakes. It was great!

I liked seeing the communities from another perspective and the addition of children to the world was great! Zed is my least favourite of the hero’s so far, I don’t really believe him as a whole character. What did he really offer Esther? This is the only time it felt like they’re together because there was no one else.

”i think we must have got some wires crossed. so here it is. i love you, esther. i’m in love with you. i’m crazy in love with you. i’ve been in love with you for at least two years.” ♡₊˚

i was initially disappointed that this wasn’t anna and mack’s story, like it’s been promised, but i still thought this one was really cute! i loved the family aspect, rina was adorable and esther really cared for the little girl. the whole step-uncle thing threw me for a loop at first but… i didn’t think it was that big of a deal

This was the shortest of the four and I wish it were longer.
