This was a great second book in the series and I didn’t realize there was going to be a third book! I really enjoyed watching Xanthe come into her own as a Spinner and try to balance her present life with her life in the past. I’m excited to read the third book and see a conclusion to Xanthe’s conflict with Fairfax.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun listen, the story was engaging, the conclusion was… not so conclusive. But I am looking forward to the next in the series.
Just found out it is a series of 4!!! I can't wait to read the rest of them
8/10 woo! Cliffhanger! Make sure you have the next book so you just keep going.
I started out excited to read this sequel, but was sorely disappointed.
The romance part of the story was infuriating and stupid. Why make us root for a love story that wouldn’t happen? Also, her aversion to lying to her mother is stupid. Flora freaking out on Xanthe for not telling her that Marcus was around was stupid. They act like a married couple rather than a grown ass woman and their mother. Their relationship is weird and unrealistic. And I don’t understand why Xanthe even entertained Marcus and actually met up with him the first time. Everything in this sequel sucked. I started to really dislike the MC and hearing her complain about lying. I won’t be reading the third in this series.

I really liked this book. Brackston keeps the book realistic in terms of family and friends - if one was actually capable of time travel. Some people didn't like the way she went back to her mom every so often, but I feel that I would for mine, so Xanthe was relatable for me.
I love learning about history through this story and found much of it interesting. I would never have known about chocolate house gatherings otherwise!
Starting the next book in the series now!

It was just too slow. I tried. I will not be continuing this series.
I'm hoping that the series becomes more expansive. The end of the book felt unnecessary. To end it upon her return would have been sufficient - the chapters following that were dull/almost plodding.
It's disappointing because the idea is such and interesting one. A woman who spins time to help those in need.
