I thought this was a cute book with lots of literary fun. I think this would be perfect to read to my kids someday!

This was fanciful, sweet, and funny. It isn't on my favorites list, but quite enjoyable. It reminds me a smidge of Roald Dahl.

I think this was the first book I ever read that included puns and other word play. It introduced me to the possibility of there being more to a book than the story. It showed me that how the story was told matters, too. Because of that, I give to every person in my life who is in the vicinity of 10 years old.

Reading this was a fun little trip down memory lane to my elementary school reading class. My favorite part of this reread was by far the nostalgia and all of the fun memories attached to it, and I'm not sure how much I would have enjoyed it without that. I did think the metaphors were fun (and often went over my head as a kid) and I understand why this is somewhat of a children's classic.

Always a great read. Loved it when I was younger and still love it today. Re-reading the book reminds me why I choose it as a project in reading class. I still remember my dad getting me a refrigerator box so I could paint the inside to go along with the book and my paper.
