Whew this book made me have an actual nightmare! Even knowing what happens from having seen the movie in the past, this book still managed to creep me out. I read through this so quickly, and it constantly had me yelling at the main characters for their stupidity. It had all the things I love about a Stephen King novel, made me think and gave me a scare!

This is one of my least favorites. The story can be a difficult subject matter for most people. It is one part a family starting a new life and the consequences of those who think that they can fix everything. Out of all the characters the most complicated is Louis who blames himself for his son’s death. Rachel is haunted by her past and the choice she made when she was a child. And my favorite character in the book is Jud: an old man who tries is best to help Louis with the grief he is going through.

i really really loved this book, but i feel like the ending was very rushed. i would have liked a slower buildup to gage and more detail of rachel. great book, but i really wanted it to be longer.
