I almost wish this wasn't a graphic novel because it's a great storyline for a long, interesting and scary book about vampires. The idea I think is very unique, although there are a lot of vampire books out there now. I loved the setting, which I think is what made it more particular and story builds up well, even though it is written in such limited space. The art was great, the images blurry causing a snow storm looking kind of effect, and the blood and gore was done well enough to look pretty scary. If you've seen the movie, this is very similar except for a few changes, and you'll enjoy slightly more.
Great premise, minimal suspense or relatable characters, and artwork that had me scratching my head most of the book.
I wanted to read this series, and loved it, for so long... that I was terribly disappointed. The story wasn't the problem even if it wasn't that great. The problem was the sketchy illustration style that didn't get to me. Too sketchy to be graphic enough, foggy from time to time, the artwork kill this series for me... Too bad!
I had Hugh hopes for this book. A the beginning I was enjoyingly creeped out by it, but as the book wore on it started to lose some substance and moved too fast.
The art was good, though you could clearly notice that a few panels were repeated, not just the same page but a few pages later. Anyway, I'm deviating a little. The art was erratic, gruesome and lively. Perfect fit for a fantasy horror book.
The major downside for this book for me was the lettering, especially for the vampire's. The text was quite illegible, even reading it digitally I had to zoom in to be read what was being said.
I potentially will read more of this series, but I won't be in a rush to do so.

Really don't know why I downloaded this freebie. I'm not a fan of zombies. The art is dire and the colouring is a mess that makes it hard to see what's going on.
I couldn't even finish it.

With improvements to casting, I think the movie may have actually improved on this story. This is not the first volume illustrated by Templesmith that I've had trouble with. The style used makes the images difficult to focus on and obscures much of the action. As a result, thos felt stunted and incomplete.
Nice creepy images, some nice dark lines. The drawing style worked for a lot of it, but because he used the same rough strokes for the "normal" people, they looked very weird. I would have liked more distinction better.
The story was VERY short, which made the ending a little simple/rushed. Nice symmetry between the beginning and the ending, though!

2.5 maybe? there's potential but it was kind of meh. i didnt care about the characters. the art style was interesting
This book was definitely ruined for me because I already saw the movie. ðŸ˜
