This book really changed my understanding and perspectives on drug use and has fueled my desire to continue to learn more about the subject and the ways I can assist my loved ones and eventually my community.

Remembered this book when I came across Beautiful Boy with Timothee Chalamat and Steve Carrell on Amazon Prime. While this book is an interesting read, it's easy to put down and forget. The movie, however, will stay with you forever.

Tweak was a crazy read. To read a first-hand account of being a drug addict, from the very beginning until his sober days (and a few relapses in between), was quite unique and often hard to read. Sometimes I really hated the author, reading about all of the mistakes he was making...but overall I couldn't NOT like him. He was misguided, misunderstood, and lacked decent support from his family and friends.
There's also a book written from his father's perspective, which I plan to read as well.
