I think I rate this high because of the nostalgia of my childhood. I watched the movie and read the book numerous times. I don't remember the book being super deep. Very weird. I don't think it is for everyone, but such a wonderful story for me as a kid.

This book was fun, however, and I'm definitely biased about this, I think the story just works better as a movie.
This was a very quick read, though, which was nice, and I was able to read it in a day! (I'm not a fast reader, so it made me feel cool)

Just finished reading this book with my six-year-old daughter. She loved it so I’m giving it 4 stars. It was creative and we laughed a lot together. One pretty racist part that shocked me but without that part the book was a good book to read with my daughter.
