A very beautiful way to end the series this book was. This book is the most sad out of all of them since World War One occurs but it shows how strong the Blythes truly are. The main character is the youngest of Anne’s children Rilla and she is very loveable we get to see her truly grow through out the duration of the novel. And that last line was truly heartfelt
Graphic: Bullying, Death, Violence, Alcohol, Religious bigotry, Animal death, Animal cruelty, Blood, Child abuse, Classism, Cursing, Hate crime, Death of parent, Genocide, Medical content, Injury/Injury detail, Murder, Pandemic/Epidemic, Police brutality, Racism, Sexism, and War

I cried many times within this book.
Rilla is an enjoyable character to read with her behaviors and the choices she makes. It is incredibly emotional and bittersweet to see Anne's family endure the war together. The relationships are one of the main drives of this book and also one of the biggest reasons as to why this novel is so emotional.
I really enjoyed this sequel. (The previous book strayed too far for me-having been more of a side story then a sequel. This book seemed to fit more snugly into the fold of Anne's life as she progressed into middle age with her family)
