WOW! What can I say? This book is truly amazing. It deals with the problem of having an eating disorder so well and really dives into the thoughts and feelings behind it. Wow! I can only recommend it.
Wow. This story really hit home. Being someone who has dealt with eating disorders I could really relate to everything the main character and her best friend went through, though not to this extent. This book could really be a trigger to anyone who has dealt with eating disorders. As I was reading I started to get back into my old thoughts. Up until the end I started to get into that obsessive thinking about food and calories. The ending scared the crap out of me. I definitely shed a few tears while reading. Anorexia and bulimia are serious disorders. If you are someone who has or had these irrational thoughts i would really recommend being very careful reading this book.
Trigger warning : eating disorder
Im not sure if this was based on a real story or fiction (which is irrelevant because this happens in real life) I can't really put what I'm feeling into words. I can't really say anything about the characters or the concept or the pace or the writing. This book is so raw, so heartbreaking, so real. And I couldn’t bring myself to give it a rating.
If you’re like me, make sure you wait to read this until you are in a state of mind to handle it. It's awfully sad. And triggering.
The story is written in a form of a diary and is about an anonymous girl who deals with anorexia.
I felt really helpless while reading this, because I can’t help help her or do anything.
It really shows how something so bad can start off so innocently. Not only does it talk about how she restricts and how much eating disorders suck, not only does it talk about recovery and how hard it can be, but it also covers relapse and coping with that, as well as how it affects friends and family.
This book hit me so hard.
We as women (men too!) need to break through that box that society has forced us in. We need to realize that our worth is not determined by our weight. Your body size doesn’t determine your worth. It does not determine your ability. YOU ARE WORTH IT.
Being “HEALTHY” is doing what’s BEST for your BODY, on your terms

Much too "cautionary tale" for me. I think it is dumb that it is written by "Anonymous," when it was clearly written by a writer and not a sixteen year old girl.
3/5 ⭐️
First off, this book touches on sensitive material involving the cycle of an eating disorders so if that is a trigger for you, maybe skip this one.
I’ve read a few anonymous books before, like Go Ask Alice and Lucy in the Sky, and I love the diary format. It feels like you’re right inside the person’s head, getting a front-row seat to their thoughts and experiences.
The main character (she’s never named, but I’m guessing it could be Ana) is a 16-year-old track runner who loves her friends and family. She has a super supportive boyfriend, Jack, and a ballet dancer best friend, Jill, who introduces her to calorie restriction. Their friendship turns very toxic, and it ends up being a dangerous cycle for both of them.
The idea behind this book was interesting, but the execution fell a little flat for me. The diary entries got pretty repetitive, and for a book that’s almost 300 pages, I feel like it could’ve gone deeper into what someone in her position is really thinking and feeling. The ending also felt rushed and didn’t quite land for me. Despite this, there were a few insightful moments that I really appreciated. Even though this was a fictional book, I know that this was a real-life scenario to someone and I want to respect that
