This book had so many layers and components to it. I really loved reading the story even though parts were hard to read. It did feel a bit long.

The Golden Doves

Martha Hall Kelly

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 stars

An incredible historical fiction. The amount of research Martha Hall Kelly had to of done preparing for this novel is incredible because it’s just like I’m reading a piece of history.

The story is one of resilience and courage of two brave women, Josie and Arlette. They work in the French resistance during World War II and the Cold War era. They are known as, “The Golden Doves”. They’re spies and I just cannot imagine The things they had to see or do for their missions.

This was a suspenseful, heart pounding novel. Written history, emotional tale of friendship, and the truth behind female freedom fighters. If you love history or historical fiction, this is a must read.

Wow wow wow. So many twists. But, honestly, just shocked that these women with zero self preservation instincts survived this book.

It was good at first, but I hated the ending.
I didn't like that the villain survived. This book would've been good as just a one off and not a series. There was less about the concentration camp than I thought which I guess makes it more reader friendly. The spicy scenes were fun.
Overall, pretty fun and easy read even though it's a lot of pages.
