A short and wonderful play that is dense with religion, themes of jealousy, lust, hatred and prophecy. A quick read but a great one. I just wish it were longer.

“They are like black lakes, troubled by fantastic moons.”

I had a really soft spot for Oscar Wilde ever since I read The Picture of Dorian Gray and oh boy. Did this play kind of ruin him for me. It's not just that it's bad, although the weird dialogue bothered me a lot throughout the whole thing, but a lot of it sounded really racist and that kept me from enjoying it.
