The entire second half of this book, basically at the end of every chapter, I'm thinking "what did I just read?" This was definitely one of the stranger books I've read, but in a good way.

This literary horror was like reading a fever-dream. Alvaro and his sister end up in the disturbing hotel Alicia in Las Vegas after running from a horrific trauma in Columbia. Super creepy vibes and deep commentary on several issues.

Started off strong, but 12 chapters in there was no horror. The author kept repeating that the main character had trauma. Yeah we get it man, you told us 4 times pretty chapter

Strong, if extremely upsetting start. I felt that it became repetitive and the plot was not moving forward as quickly as I would have liked. Horror elements are more in the social horror variety which is usually my thing, but this was not balanced with more traditional horror scares as I would have preferred. I read to chapter 12.

Weight comments that kind of bothered me. Not a super big fan of how many times the main character kept mentioning how his coworker was fat
