I was shocked by how addictive and clever this was from the first page. The writing style and pacing worked really well from the start. It’s almost hard to put it down because the story grabs you from the very start.

As Nora is held hostage in a bank robbery with her ex boyfriend and current girlfriend, I anticipated a lot of unnecessary or petty drama which made me kind of hesitant. However, the relationship between the three characters is so much more heartwarming than expected and I was happy to see their relationships didn’t define them as that does often happen. The glimpses we get into Nora’s past were also a great touch and I liked the way they were included quite a bit.

One thing I do wish we got to see more of was Lee. I really enjoyed her character and her relationship with Nora so was kind of sad she wasn’t as prominent.

I expected this to be a funny read when in fact it got really deep. There were funny moments, but it got into molestation, abuse, and medical issues that women face (endometriosis). Nora had to be so many girls for her mother’s selfish reasons and that truly sucks. It was great to see Nora start to find herself, figure out who she wants to be, and be brave/strong like she always told herself to be. She’s stronger than she gives herself credit for.

4.5 ⭐️ I found out that this is supposed to turn into a series with Millie Bobby Brown and I can totally see that! This book would be better on tv as the book was broken into sections the way you would a script.

so. fucking. good.

Update 26/10:

I'd like to actually write a review for this book because it was so good!

This is everything I've ever wanted in a YA. It's dark, fun, twisty, smart, exciting, yet it feels like it's written for a YA audience.

It's a little unrealistic but also very real. Characters react to trauma, friendships and love in a very real manner. They talk like teens. Sometimes it's cringy. Sometimes it feels adult. Nora is a very interesting main character.

Tess Sharpe is so so good at building tension and the book never once felt like it was losing speed. We got short, snappy chapters with a sprinkle of multimedia elements that feel purposeful. The flashbacks are never meandering and I was equally excited to read both present and past sections.

I find a lot of books like this have a really boring or slow ending and this totally didn't! it's dramatic, exciting, a little over the top, but still real and wow wow wow just so fun! if it sounds like something you'd be into, pick it UP !!!
