This was a really great short, and please know how rare that is for me to say - I generally can't get into shorts, especially romantic shorts, because there's not enough time for things to develop and feel 3-dimensional.

It is definitely helped by reading book 1 in this series, because you get to know David and Thea in that book. That means this short doesn't have to waste a lot of time letting you meet the characters.

It's sweet and passionate and glorious. David and Thea are amazing.

This novella follows Schoolboy Choir drummer David who's crush on Molly's sister Thea in [b:Rock Addiction|22839846|Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss, #1)|Nalini Singh|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1408109387s/22839846.jpg|42396239] was none-too-subtle. One of my favorite storylines is "friends to lovers" and Nalini Singh captures that perfectly. David's feelings for Thea are sweet. Her last relationship ended badly and she's been hesitant to get into another relationship especially with a client and a musician to top it all off. But David is patient in his pursuit of Thea.

I was on the fence about the full-length Rock Addiction. I honestly think that Rock Courtship was the perfect length of story. I at times thought Rock Addiction was a bit too repetitive in order to fulfill the requirements that make it a novel as opposed to a novella, but this was perfect. I quick read that gets to the point of Thea and David's feelings without all the extra fluff.

I enjoyed this much more than the first one, probably since it's shorter and got to the point. Hero is such a sweetheart and the whole write a memo thing was cute.

I was hoping for a little more story out of their romance, but it was still sweet nonetheless. I guess I just like my cheese with a little more bite to it.

Thanks to both the publisher and Nalini!!!

I have to write an honest review, so I'm gonna be really, really honest: I don't know what to say...

Don't get me wrong -- I LOVED IT! The romance is to die for, the characters are awesome, the writing is excellent... I could go on like that forever!

So instead of writing my usual reviews with the "what I liked and what I didn't like" structure, I'm just going to try to convince you to read this book... By writing a memo... ;)

Reasons why you should read Rock Courtship

Introduction: In which, I, Alyson, try to convice you, reader of my (probably extremely boring) review, to read Rock Courtship.

First of all, I would like to point out that this book is written by Nalini Singh, so that's more than enough to pick up this book. Because one, she writes awesome stories and two, her writing is excellent!

Second, David is not like any other type of hero you've read. Mostly writers write about bad boys (like Fox in Rock Addiction). But this time Nalini chose to write about the sweetest guy ever. David is honest and sweet and hot and well, he's pretty much the prince charming we're all waiting for... So it would be a nice change from all those bad boy stories!

Third, (this is my fangirl moment about Noah, so you can skip this if you want to), Nalini told me there wouldn't be a lot of Noah in this book. Well, she lied! There were awesome Noah scenes which made me freak out every time I saw his name. You also get a glimpse of what the boys of Schoolboy Choir went through in their early days, which was really nice. Especially Noah's early days ;) So Noah fans, read this book!

Finally, if you're not convinced by any of the above, just read it for the romance. I mean, Thea has doubts because of her "Don't date clients" policy and you'll see how she deals with that, but the romance between Thea and David is just to die for. It will make you melt and whilst reading you'll have this big goofy grin on your face, which will make you look crazy to other people in the room.

Conclusion: If you're still not convinced, read another review. Maybe they will convince you. I can only tell you I was sick while reading this book, and I forgot all about it until I put the book down. Then reality came crashing back in my face!

Now go and...
