I probably would've liked this one better had i not just read Pivot Point which was a very similar book, but better done.
At a Glance:
Just Like Fate so good! Even though sometimes it was a tear jerker, I loved it! I really enjoyed how every other chapter was about what happens in one of the two pathways that Caroline chose for her fate. And in each life she falls in love with a guy. It's just brilliant. Which path is the better choice? Such a fun read.
Romance:
I loved the romance in this book, because she has two different lives with two different guys. Sometimes she would choose the wrong guy, but she would always end up with the perfect decision for her. Haha, my mom tore out a page with some adult content, so I have no idea what that was.
Heroine:
Caroline Cabot is a seventeen year old girl stuck on which fate to choose for her life. She was very witty and fun. She was never really annoying, just that sometimes, she would choose a very wrong pathway for her life.
Hero or Zero?
Joel Ryder = Zero: Definitely not my favorite character in this book. Sometimes he just really annoying. Sometimes I would like him, and then sometimes I would just hate him.
Christopher Drew = Hero: on the other hand... Is amazing. I would say that he is my absolute favorite character out of the whole book. He is just romantic, sweet, kind, very protective over Caroline, the most quirkiest guy and the entire story.
Favorite Supporting Character:
I really loved Simone. She was very funny, quirky, and always had Caroline's back throughout the whole book. She really just lit the entire book up.
Something I loved:
I liked the whole book altogether. I really loved the romance, the way the book was written, and I really love her Chapter Go life. Wait, when you read the book, you will totally agree with me.
Something(s) I hated:
I really didn't like Joel Ryder, his character is just a jerk. He was a womanizer, player... it got kinda a bad.
Cliffhanger?
Yes and no. It's really one of those books where you really don't know if there is going to be a sequel... But I really hope there will be... so the answer is yes, there is a small cliffhanger.
Would I recommend it?
Yes, I would recommend it to anyone that loves romance. I am definitely telling all my friends to read it, even my mother Amy.
Did my friends like it?
Yes, my friend Natalie loved it! She says its in her top favorites.

I really liked the way the author showed the different paths the main character could take and how that would affect her and the people around her.
1.5 Stars
Just Like Fate is the equivalent of eating a tub of ice cream all at once and completely regretting it after.
Right after finishing Just Like Fate, I was ready to write a gushing review on how wonderful of an experience I had while reading this. A few hours later I was mulling over the novel and began to think how completely shallow it felt. So many irrational events occurred in the course of this book that I'm surprised I didn't catch them. It's embarrassing, really, that I had been mindlessly reading this novel without actually thinking of the story-line as a whole.
Sidenote: This goes to show that I will NEVER REVIEW A BOOK RIGHT AFTER I FINISH IT.
There is angsty teen drama, somewhat of a love triangle, and lots of moping around in this book.
What really bothers me is at the core of the plot itself: WHY WOULD SHE LEAVE THE HOSPITAL TO GO TO A PARTY IF HER GRANDMA IS DYING. After I thought about this, the rest of the story just unraveled itself, leading to numerous derivations of these questions:
Why would you go somewhere with a guy you don't know? Why would you date said guy? Why would you be so passive in a relationship and just let yourself do what the guy wants you to do?
SO MUCH LACK OF LOGIC = RAGE. Add in the heavy reliance on cliches, (especially cliches as characters) and you have nothing more than a pile of papers; an utter mess, if you ask me.
It pestered me, a lot, that there was so much emphasis on romantic relationships. What happened to family? In the book's defense it did bring up the protagonist's relationship with her mother, father, and sister, but it wasn't as accentuated as her love life.
The reason I give this 1.5 stars is because while I was entertained while reading it, I get a bad taste in my mouth whenever I think of Just Like Fate. I just want to forget it.
Like I said, this book is like a guilty pleasure. Now, gone is the pleasure and all I feel is guilt/annoyance. Read this if you are half-asleep, tired of thinking because of schoolwork, or all of the above (like me). But be warned, you'll probably regret it later on.
**Sorry for the abundance of caps lock. I had far too much rage bottled up inside.

sounds like pivot point....
update 14/2/2015 and it was. The main character did dumb things. Joel was totally unlikable, and CAroline annoying. 2.5 stars.I normally like Cat Patrick, but Suzanne Young's alleged annoying characters (didn't read the program) have influenced this.

I really enjoyed this book and I would really recommend it.
At first it was slightly confusing jumping between the narratives but it doesn't take long to get used to.
I thought it was cleverly written and I thought the epilogue was written amazingly and tied everything up so well.
Really good read and I'd recommend.
