3.59 AVERAGE

The story of this book revolves around two people that couldn't be more opposites then they already are. Lee is a shield, which means she is basically emotion"less" or at least doesn't feel the same amount of emotions that your average person does. She was educated in a school for shield were she had different lessons on how to channel power (especially that of her source), how to talk and how other people would see her partner and what she had to do to lessen the impact her partner will have.
Unfortunately she gets bonded with the source that she doesn't want to be bonded to for all her live, Source Shintaro, a snobbish Lord who never had any hardships and who doesn't know what the real life is about. Not that Lee has any idea what it means to be in the real world after her secluded life at the academy.
Now mix those to togheter, shake a little bit and you can imagine the disaster that this relationship will be.... or not? Things don't quite seem what they are. Especially after Lee's source was kidnapped and everything goes to hell...

This book was a very refreshing read from what I normally consume. It was a suggestion based on my buying habits and I must say that it was delicious to read. I'm so glad I found this book.

Excellent for subway reading - light, fluffy, and funny, without being dumb.

The back cover made this sound a lot funnier than it actually turned out to be. It was okay, but I actually found the narrative character much more irritating than the hero of the title. She was a judgmental know-it-all and the hero was far more likable (even through her lens of prejudice) than she was. Still, I'm willing to give the sequel a chance.

I liked the world in which this was based, the source and shield dynamic was really cool. However some parts dragged quite a bit, but it was overall a quick read. Will read the rest of the series.

The cover of this book makes this look like a parody book. In fact, that's why it took me so long to get to it. It came recommended, which is why I picked it up at the used book store, but I wasn't terribly excited about reading it. Fortunately, it's nothing like the cover makes you think it will be.

I really enjoyed reading this one. I was annoyed at both the main characters for their extreme preconceived prejudices about each other. The story was great, though and I liked it a lot. I'm not sure I'm really interested in reading more, but I did like this one.

An easy fantasy/possibly romance read with an interesting premise. Nothing deep, but I enjoyed reading it!

Most enjoyable. A few cliches scattered throughout the story but they add to the allure of the story. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
