Excellent collection of important and influential essays.

Non-Fiction essays are actually really interesting. These essays make you think of issues you’ve never thought of before.

A wonderful book for English Composition classes. It makes a good reader for a reading skills class as well. The readings are varied in difficulty as well as period. In fact, several of my students this semester liked the book so much that they are not selling it back to the bookstore!

Great school lesson collection of essays that kept me thinking. Good representation across race, class, and gender makes this an insightful and enlightening collection. Wish the essays were organized in a more meaningful way, but this was a good primer to get me started on other authors and essays.
