I loved this book! Lyrical, poetic, a hint of mystery and sympathetic characters that drew me in and compelled me to read this from start to finish in one afternoon. Highly recommend

I was lost in the first few chapters. I put it down a few times, but I loved it.

This was a lovely read. The main American character was not particularly well drawn, but the Burmese people were fascinating. I was charmed by the story and how well it was woven together.
I thoroughly enjoyed “The Art of Hearing Heartbeats.” The story is beautifully written and deeply moving, with its unique blend of romance and mystery. It explores themes of connection, love and the parent child relationship. The characters are richly developed, and the author’s vivid descriptions of Burma create a captivating backdrop. The story is a literary gem that moved slowly at times as is typically with this style.
Overall this is a good book that fans of
literary fiction and richly developed characters will love.

This was an excellent book. I would have given it 5 stars were it not written in such detail. Personally, I don't care for really detailed books, but the story was incredible.
slow-paced
Some beautiful prose, but somewhat heavily written. Unfolds slowly; more detail than necessary.
An allegory of love, rather than a story about two people.
