Nia and Drake’s story was a roller coaster of emotions! Nia and Drake got together in secret but after a series of unfortunate and non spoiler events, split. The blurb covers this as you know ....what you don’t know is that you will laugh, cry, throw the book (and maybe a punch) while reading this.

Nia is such a strong character. So strong that I wanted to reach through my Kindle and shake her. Her emotions are valid, warranted even, and I appreciated the realism in not immediately running back to the BD who did you wrong like some other books.

Now Drake, baby. Drake Paradise is that man. He takes what he wants simply because he can and he’s getting his lick and e v e r y t h i n g back from Ms. Nia.

I can honestly say that I was not expecting this story. It dragged a bit in the beginning (see Nia’s headstrong comment above) but it was what they needed. I loved the side characters and hope that our favorite lawyer/attorney duo get their day.

Wow! This book was EVERYTHING! The plot, the characters, the angst, everything was perfect. It was heartbreaking for so many reasons but I loved this one so much. (It’s the first time I cried for one of Evelyn’s book!) It was excellent and Nia and Drake are beautiful. Can’t wait for October 6th for everyone to discover them and buy a physical copy to read this again!

Kinda of what I was expecting, but still enough of the not expecting that outcome.

I do wish we got to see or hear what his father video taped on his death day. I want to see how or even if he’s apologetic & sincere in his words.

I am also had that everyone that need to get justice did!

I really liked it & would recommend it. Although you may not like Drake for more than half the book because of what he does to have his family!

Almost Paradise

I wasn’t too sure about this one to begin with. I am all for morally grey men, and tend to really
enjoy dark romances. But, in the beginning of the book, the MMC Drake, was so extremely
aggressive/toxic/violent that it was severely off putting and I almost DNF. BUT, I am so glad that
I pushed through, because the story was well worth it, as well as his growth throughout the book
made it well worth it.
Drake Paradise is the son to a massively wealthy family, whose patriarch has just suddenly
passed. The family is still trying to navigate the grief, as well as trying to find ways to move on,
when Drake encounters the woman who many years ago walked away with his heart, Nia. But,
there is one catch, who is the 3 year old boy calling her Mommy? And why does he look so
much like Drake?
Unbeknownst to Drake, his father and his current fiance had a plan to keep Carter, Drake’s son
out of his life entirely. But, the love that Nia and Drake once shared is a force to be reckoned
with, and nothing, and I mean NOTHING will keep the two apart at the end of the day.
I really loved seeing the so very toxic man that Drake is known to be becoming a father. From
day one, he was such a good father, who was very hurt by the fact that he has been kept from
his son for 3 years, and until he figures out what really happened, him and Nia will continually
fight over the fact that he doesn’t remember her telling him about being pregnant, or did she and
someone cover it up this whole time?
I also really enjoyed the aspects of the book regarding race, and what an interracial couple may
go through, especially when one of them is from a prominent white family to the community. I
have come across many stories like this one, and to be honest, the content for this one was
extremely unique and different compared to the standard romance novel that is out there.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
