Completely out of left field and separate from the rest of the trilogy! Despite my frustration, the world building was interesting but also rushed, and lots of loose threads.

I like the series but it had been a while since I read the first two and my attention was not focused enough. I also felt like the violence was becoming too graphic for the mood I’ve been in lately and so needed to pause and come back again later. I may prefer to read it rather than listen to audiobook - I had a hard time distinguishing between the characters.
