Interesting look behind the scenes of what goes on in a therapist's office. Even if you've been yourself, it's always tempting to wonder if it goes the same for other people as it does for you... Some insights and life lessons, a bit pedantic or overly self-aware at times.

I really loved this book! It’s one of the rare ones that actually made me cry. I found myself reading it slowly because I kept pausing to sit with what each client went through and the insights they uncovered in therapy. The writing was beautiful, and at times it almost felt like I was reading a novel instead of real experiences.

One of my favourite books! I believe that everyone should have access to therapy, and everyone should have tried it at least twice in their life, even if you don't have any pressing diagnosable condition – it may help regardless with identifying and breaking down poor or even toxic behavioural patterns. Unfortunately, the negative stigma that surrounds therapy is a major deterrent for us to seek help, but I believe that this book does a tremendous job knocking down the walls of this perceived shame by normalising therapy. I dearly recommend anyone to read this!

I did wonder whether it was ethical for a therapist to write about clients, but I understand that a lot of the client's stories were fabricated in order to keep their privacy. This presents a different problem though, that the client's stories were changed in order to fit a certain narrative. Even so, I really enjoyed this book, it gave a great insight into therapy and how it can help, in an entertaining way. Apparently this was a long book, but it certainly didn't feel like it!
