Would give it 3.8 If possible.
This book has some boring parts, but also some very touching and interesting insights from the hidden world of therapy.

Loved it! Part biography, part self-help book, I found it both entertaining and enlightening. I also just love those "behind the scenes" style books like Mary Roach writes.

i adored my time with this book and i know deep down just how often i’ll think back on it. its unlike everything i’ve ever read, reading about a therapist’s professional and personal life. i loved that divide, in fact, because it made me feel like there was multiple stories to be found in one. i never knew which direction the next chapter would go and i feel like that’s rare. one of my new favourite nonfictions!!

i am a slut for a little memoir moment and this was no exception. so good, highly recommend. really made me deconstruct my ideas about therapy and therapists, and just humanized a lot of types of people.
