I feel like I am not the right audience for this book.
The start came in strong, and I actually felt creeped out. But when the same thing happened over and over again (disembodied voices, moving dolls, weird cousins), it just became tired and repetitive. At about 30% I just lost interest, and only the want to unfold the mystery kept me leafing through the pages. And then everything was revealed and it's just not worth it. Other readers have praised the fact that the author didn't bother with subtlety, but I think it only made the "twists" ineffective. The aftermath of the revelation was actually good, quick-paced and heart-pounding, but it was quickly followed by the conclusion to the weird sexual tension that had been going on between the protagonist and one of her cousins, which, by the way, was not comfortable to read.
This is the kind of horror that I'm actively trying to avoid, yet I fell into its trap. I blame the Frozen Chars.

Bardzo fajna książka, akcja szybko się rozwija i nie ma żadnego nudnego momentu. Momentami straszna, ale wszystko bardzo fajnie się zgrywało. Bardzo podobał mi się motyw nawiedzonych, przeklętych lalek. Książka napisana bardzo fajnym i prostym językiem.

It’s a really good book, it’s fast paced and there is no boring moments. There are some scary moments but everything works perfect regarding the plot. I really liked haunted and cursed dolls. The book is written very good.

Books don't scare me easily but THIS ONE… i don't know if i'll be able to sleep tonight but it was worth it because this is an amazing story, so creepy i just couldn't put it down

Hhhnnnngggggggggggg!!! 3 days of spine chilling goodness!. Juno Dawson was right in saying its "Deliciously creepy"! And there was a sneak peek at a sequel in the back of the book! can't wait.
I'd highly recommend this book to anyone and am actively pushing it on my fiance to read. I just loved the twists and turns and there was never a dull moment!

Omg this book gave me chills from start to finish honestly for half this book I did not know who to trust at all. I enjoyed the writing style in this book and I will defo be picking up more by Alex bell x

This is one of the most popular books in my middle grades library. I picked it up intending to use it as a read aloud with the kids. This book TERRIFIED me. Scared my pants off. To the point I think I will pick a different book to read with the kids

My daughter has been trying to get me to read this for a while, I'm glad I finally did. I'm not sure a spooky ghost story that is plenty scary and very ghosty could also be called cute, but it is. A cute, frightening, wonderful book. I finished it all in one sitting and I'm excited to start the next one
