Couldn’t get into it. Boring, predictable, too much, skimmed through a lot of pointless text. Annie is in a rut, depressed and down, living in Hawaii with her son and husband. She lets a stranger in on a bad storm night - Serena, who she soon realizes is dangerous and knows a lot about her.

I'm no author, and I'm not in any way saying that I could do a better job, but the writing in this book felt very amateur. The story line was so far-fetched that it was hard to get lost/encapsulated within the book. The conversations felt unrealistic (would her husband really text that way? Would her very young son actually use those words to describe his experiences?) I really, really wanted to like this book.
