this is a real page-turner! the chapters are short and there are gripping mini-cliffhangers and plot twists throughout. Hepworth delivers really good character-focused thrillers that make you interested in the people involved as well as the mystery itself. I normally find books that flit between the past and present frustrating, but not this one since it’s well paced, and the time and perspective jumps are not just for building suspense, they are relevant to the point in the story each time one happens. my main qualm is the afterlife perspective feels out of place and too philosophical.

I was holding out the whole time because I thought the ending would save the book. No, predictable and bad.

This book smacks you in the face with reveal after reveal which makes you ravenously devour it until the end.
Firstly, The characters feel so real, the marriages, the parenting, the issues, and the struggles.
I wish there was a little more setting description but I overall got the idea and made up my own "view".
I'll just say the story is not what you expect and its definitely a ride. I found myself gasping or my jaw dropping so many times. (luckily not in public)
Bittersweet ending.

Fast paced and full of unpredictable twists, Sally Hepworth delivers yet another unputdownable domestic thriller and has cemented herself as an auto buy author for me.

Hepworths ability to create complicated family dynamics and unexpected endings is second to none

This book is perfect for those who love a fast paced read with dual points of view and multiple time lines (a signature of this authors work)

Dynamic characters, great mental health representation and layered characters make this an easy 5 star read
