Nathaniel is such an endearingly good guy who is like anyone else - desiring a special someone to share his life with.

Gabriel the ghost, is serving a penance, never thinking he'd get a bit of happiness as he tries to fulfill his mission.

Another sweet story that is pure indulgent whimsy, where the spirit of Christmas wonderfully makes the impossible come true.

This was cute, i liked the romance and the vibes but I didn’t like how judgmental the MC was being.

Not fluff

This was a little more melancholy than most holiday stories. I thought this was going to go in a totally different direction, which is my fault for not reading the blurb again before I read the book. However I liked the story and loved the very end.

I so fell in love with this story. I have read a few ghost stories before and I really liked how this one was done. I adored Gabriel the ghost and was rooting for him from the start. His story was so sad and I just wanted him to get some happiness. He lived in a time where same sex relationships were illegal and that lead to his not so happy ending before he dies. It was funny watching him try to get people to fall in love when all he had to do was do that himself. I think that was the name of the game all along. But I did enjoy his interfering in people's love lives. Nate was an amazing person. After everything he went through he still tried to fall in love. He was amazing with Gabriel and their scenes together were so funny and sometimes emotional. I cried near the end when all looked lost. Nate was so upset and tried his best to carry on. All he had to do was say three little words to fix it all. I liked the way the ghost part of the book was done as sometimes it can be too unbelievable and far fetched. This one made sense and led to some amazing scenes. I loved the ending. Got to love a happy ending!

I did enjoy this and thought the concept was amazingly interesting but the writing is really where the story fell short. There wasn't enough description of the world or the characters thoughts or any kind of backstory, the writing was just very basic.

Usually I love some fat rep, as a fat person person, but with this it fell flat. Every so often Nathaniel would mention is round belly and that was it. There is so much more involved with being fat than just occasionally remembering your tummy is rotund.

Overall the idea was better than the execution.

Oh lovely. Beautifully written, and wove in past, present, and responses to past trauma without being heavy-handed. Utterly believable despite its being a ghost story.
