A tenacious, morally questionable heroine, shamanistic magic, ancient chaotic gods, and outstanding world building. The characters were three-dimensional, and the story evolved so quickly yet organically that processing where it started and where it ended kind of broke my brain (in the best way) once I’d finished it.

A remaining of world War 2 as a dark fantasy.  Engaging but repetitive.

Es brutal, oscuro, lleno de caracteres malvados, irascibles e impulsivos. No me lo esperaba para nada, me ha resultado completamente atrapante.

Enjoyable read. Takes a hard, grim turn after the schooling portion of the narrative. Makes me wonder how long it’ll keep that tone during the rest of the series.

I feel like it’d be hard not to, but it’d be kind of exhausting, and there are really no characters that bring any levity to the story. Not a point against it, but it does make me curious - in a good way.
