I read this as a possible Lunch Bunch title and I think it would do pretty well. I'm a little embarrassed that it's taken me this long to get around to reading it, but I really liked it and can see why the series is so well loved. Very clever.

A must read for everyone! Way better than 5 stars!

Read for work.

Such an excellent story. And a fast read too. The audiobook is also very well done.

This has been on my radar for years. My son recommended I read it and so I finally did. It is a fun little story and I love that it revolves around linguistics.

At the time of reading the book (8th grade for reading class) I rated the book 3 out of 5 stars. It was OK but not the best. I remembered I choose to read this book (out all the other age appropriate books LOL) for the book report because I knew it would be an easy read. Obviously I got away with it since the teacher didn't say anything. I think this book is most appropriate for kids around the 4-6th grades.

Exceptionally clever YA fiction, deserving of all the awards heaped on it. I read it because it won the 1999 Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award.
