I love this book. It really made me think about the origin of words and why we call things what we do. Who's to say why can't a pen be a frindle or for that matter a frindle be a pen. I personally like both words to describe the object we use to write with.

Where do words come from? Great sorry…bit about patent a bit random for young readers but good Vic’s. builder.

Love this book! I love how it explores language with a young audience.

Amazing amazing story. One of my favorites ever. Very fun to read with kids! It really shows the impact of a good teacher and the ending always makes me cry.

This is one of those perfect books; kids will engage with it and teachers will love it because it can stir up so many conversations about words, literacy, the power of language, and the relationship between rules and freedom of expression.
