I truly enjoyed this book from the first page to the last.

Despite their fantastical nature, the characters in the book are very realistic in their nature and their struggles. I loved watching Razz grow throughout the book. The development of his character was well-done and I loved how you could see it visually as well as in his actions.

The pacing of the story was good, none of the scenes overstayed their welcome or felt unnecessary. I loved how Melody's growth helped clearly mark the passage of time, with the occasional reference in dialogue. I never felt unsure when something was happening, or out of the loop.

The side characters were all bright and vibrant. I loved the variety in designs, especially between the different races! It's clear thought was put into it: the bright colours of the fairies, the variety in the trolls and how the humans are more mundane in comparison, but still distinct characters themselves.

Although the plot itself wasn't the most complicated or earth shattering, it was perfect for this kind of book. It combined depth with a slice of life nature, and it didn't feel like either side overpowered the other. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow just as much as I enjoyed watching the narrative with the fairies develop. It felt perfectly balanced.

My only minor issue in the book is that I would have loved to see more development for Bon. The bonus comic at the end recontextualises a lot about him, and it would've been nice if more of that was reflected in the book itself. But I can understand how that might have made things feel too crowded in the narrative.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed this book and I adore the story it told and the universe it's set in. An incredibly fun read that had me invested in the characters and their story.

Ohh I think I will be buying a copy of this because it is just so lovely. The characters, the art, the story, there was nothing I didn't like about it. A fairy and a beast raising a little human child together in the human world where they're basically hiding in plain sight? Sign me up.

I love the way that the realtionship between Bon and Razz evolved throughout the book. And their feelings for each other changed without either of them realizing. One of my favorite romance tropes, honestly. They're adorable, and Melody is a adorable, and I love them all dearly.

The world Costa created is also fascinating and lovely. While I did feel like maybe a little more background would have been helpful, I still loved the characters and just kind of went with it. I would definitely read more graphic novels about them!

This was cosy and cute asf. I loved the gradual evolution of Razzmatazz’s and Bon’s relationship, and seeing Melody grow up. I just wanted to see a little more filler, some deeper discussion in the resolution, and more of the two MC’s backstories. Also, the dialogue flow was a little weird at times.
