Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the digital ARC.
After the first chapter of this book, I thought I’d hate it. The first chapter bounced around SO much that I was so confused on when things were happening and who everyone was. It was a bit unnecessary and unorganized. I also found that the way the events were explained in the first chapter didn’t completely line up with how things were explained upon watching the operation video later on.
The second chapter which introduces Paula was also kind of scattered. They introduced her two colleagues, Marie and Adam. Then later they introduce Adam again and give a mor in depth character description as if we hadn’t already met him in the beginning of the book. Those two chapters and their chaotic-ness in comparison to the rest of the book aside, I loved this one.
It had quite a few twists and the layout of how everything played out was a really good pace.
I was beyond frustrated by Paula and she is high ranking on my list of most hated characters.
I loved the pacing and character development and how everything was all tied up nicely by the end.
I didn’t fully love how it ended as it seemed very abrupt. I was left wanting more. But at the same time, it all made sense and I still didn’t hate the ending. I just was left wanting more!
One side note of something minor that bothers me - Anne, who is the surgeon, is described as blonde but the cover depicts a brunette doctor??

Mais uma vez um óptimo livro de Leslie Wolf, contudo para mim não é o melhor que li dela, apesar disto, acho um livro muito bom e uma narrativa igualmente interessante e viciante, tal como estamos habituados desta escritora.
Kind of a wonky ending, but I enjoy medical thrillers..

amazing start with an unexpected twist but confusing sub-plot
Strong start, mysterious, spooky even. Lots of curiosity bloomed but after around the 40% mark of the book, there were more unanswered questions and sub-plots such as light mentioning of a BDSM lifestyle and family history of abuse that didn’t necessarily move the plot forward but also were never fully explored. The big twist was shocking and made for a good ending but the overall final chapter and ending didn’t tie up much and didn’t necessarily follow the main theme of the book where the main surgeon is innocent. A decent read with an interesting twist but a weak ending

A bit slow and could be boring at times. The plot twist was interesting but the ending was so eh.
