I loved this and I loved their friendships and I really enjoyed how each individual got their own storyline and issues that they were working through. I thought it was going to be mainly about one character but came to care about them all and the relationships they shared and how that helped them in a strange place to find themselves.

Main problem: characters are drawn SO similarly that I had a hard time telling the difference between them?

This was the absolute coolest graphic novel I have ever read. As someone who has studied abroad in Japan, it was stunning to see how the linguistics were written / illustrated into this story; between the blurring, multi-language writing, and especially the writing of each character's accent really blew me away. On top of all of this, the story is just amazing, and I fell in love with each and every character. I was a big fan of Terrace House a few years back, and this gave me very similar vibes, but with much less dating drama and more personal reflection. I can't recommend this highly enough, I have loved everything I read from :01 First Second, but this is by far my favorite.

Beautiful illustrations. I was happily surprised to be able to read some Korean in this book. Sometimes hard to follow yet, overall a good book.

This was a lovely view into the lives of young adults learning about themselves while living in Japan. The text having both English and Japanese, Korean, etc. in the text box was a great addition to the story to share what was really being said, but translated.

The feeling of others and outsiders felt very relatable and the struggles each of the characters faced were realistic and grounded.
