I read this in just an hour or so. It is an interesting story (and the true adventure on which it is based would be very interesting to read). It tells the tale of a young boy who dreams of cycling around the world - so he gets up one morning and off he goes.
This is actually the first book (of 3) and covers the initial idea, planning and cycling to South Africa. It is a mix of third-person story and first person notes (these are actually the most interesting bits). At the end is the beginning of the next book which sees the journey continue to the Americas.
I bought this book to read with my class (Year 3/4 aged 7-9) and it will be a perfect read for this aged child. I am off to buy the next book(s) to read myself and to see if the author has written the true account of his cycling around the world.
