I picked this book up purely because of the first season on PassionFlix! I initially got the subscription to watch a movie they had just released, but since this was a new subscription. I had already paid for it for the month and decided I needed to try to watch some other things out there. One of the things that I was obsessed with was The Secret Life of Amy Bensen. That show was so suspenseful and addicting. I couldn't get enough of it, but it ended in a cliffhanger! I have no clue when the next season was coming out, but I couldn't wait, so I ended up getting the whole series and binging it. The first book is literally word for word the first season, and due to watching the show first, the book was spoiled for me. I love that the show followed the book so heavily. I still enjoyed the book for what it was, but there were moments where things just felt repetitive, and I'm not sure if it was the book or the fact that I watched the show. As soon as I finished this book, I had to pick up the next one, so the book/show did something right for me, at least. I recommend reading the book first if you're curious about the show, but if you don't want to put the work in, the show does a really good job.
