Wow

Such a fantastic duology! All the Shatter Me vibes! I would have probably loved it even more if it had more romance, but it was still seriously wonderful. Lots of great twists and turns!
SpoilerI was kinda surprised Ward and Alyssa never kissed!!! That’s so strange for a YA novel lol. But it also made sense for their storyline since they really were just starting over together at the end of this book. I’d genuinely love to see more of this series!

That leads me to the bonus I promised, and here it is: everyone is lying to you, Six-Eight-Four. Everyone.
-Lynette Noni, Whisper

The second and final book in the Whisper duology was a great conclusion to this story.

We follow Alyssa as she continues to unlock her power and learn about everything that’s been going on around her. She has managed to find sanctuary with the Remnants, but is desperate to save those she had to leave behind. Old memories begin to surface and she starts to question everything. Who can she actually trust now that the fate of the world rests in her hands.

I really enjoyed this one, but not quite as much as the first. The plot was solid and the story flowed very well. However, some of the characters didn’t quite hit the mark for me. They seemed to change from who they were in the first book. A few of my favourite characters from the first book were hardly present in this one.

One of the MCs, who I don’t want to name for spoiler reasons, where his story ended and the involvement he had, it just felt a bit left field for me. I understand it was coming, but having no remorse just didn’t feel right to me for the character I had gotten to know on the page.
fast-paced

Ok I loved this book. It was such a great sequel (and yes, I would love an epilogue novella, please) and an amazing conclusion to the story. I loved the character development and the writing. I must say, in my opinion, this is the best book Lynette Noni has ever written.

There are just a couple things I want to mention:

1) I absolutely LOVE Ward, so I was a little upset we didn’t see much of him as himself, it would have been great to have to book just a tiny bit longer so we could have more Ward time. Also, Wardlyssa/Landyssa is SUCH A GREAT SHIP! There were also afew other characters (like the Lengard gang and Ricks children) that I would of liked to see and see more of. Which brings me back to the epilogue novella *[PLEASE]*.

2) I LOVE the new characters. Aaryn is a QUEEN and Riley is so great. I wanted to see so much more of him and their relationship. Again, SHIP! Speaking of ships, Vanik and Manning, anyone else ship? Also Vaniks arch is great as well. And I actually kinda liked the big plot evil plan which isn’t very common for me.

3) I saw Kaels betrayal coming so I wasn’t that surprised but seriously the fact that Alyssa just blindly trusted him, never once suspected him and even thought others were lying just because of something he said, had me soooo mad. I wanted to slap her and tell her to open her eyes. Yes, I get that it makes the story better but she wasn’t even the slightest bit suspicious. That was my only issue with the whole book.

I loved the plot twists (it was like twist after twist after twist, shock after shock after shock) and I think Lynette wrote them beautifully. I like the open and hopeful ending, it brought me a lot of joy, I almost cried. I really love that it was in Sydney so I had more of an idea of how things were (despite never actually going to Sydney, I just know the locations better because it’s in Australia) which was good. All in all, loved the book!

Side note: can we appreciate the math genius that is Alyssa Scott? Like this girl does math in her head so fast and no one notices. I stan.

3.5 rounding up to 4.

Weapon is the second and final book in the Whisper duology by Lynette Noni. Like the first book, this was an easy and enjoyable read. Whilst there were plot twists a plenty, they were not always surprising and a number of key moments I felt were a bit too predictable. That being said, like its predecessor this book was fast paced, and even if parts were expected there was more than enough to keep me engaged. A bonus for me was that unlike other YA dystopian novels, this one didn't expand on the time-worn love triangle story that I feared was being introduced late in the first novel, rather focussing on the varying powers and abilities of all the characters. There is lots to like about this duology and I felt this concluded the story well, but I had hoped this second book would bump the score up for me. I think overall I am going to keep with the score from the first book and rate this one equally. ⭐⭐⭐

WOW I LOVED THIS

This book was SO good! I loved every moment of reading this book! Honestly, I cannot say anything bad about this book! I thought that it wrapped up everything in a really satisfying way without seeming dumb and honestly I just love it so much!!

Oh wow those last 100 or so pages were so action-packed, I was completely hooked! I really loved the first book in the series so was super excited to read the second one. The world it was set in, the creation of it, it was all so incredible. The world-building was excellent, the knowledge gained in the second book put lots into perspective from the first book - the way you fell in love with the new characters was amazing.
I loved this book, the world it was set in, the writing - everything! If you're interested in a book with cool female protagonists, mysteries that keep you guessing and a plot that'll keep you hooked, this is for sure the series for you!

Lynette Noni is a master storyteller. This book, this series was so intriguing and when you thought you knew what was happening, you were proven wrong. Lynette is amazing at misdirection, making you focused on one twist when all along there was a bigger one growing that you had no idea of.
Her characters are amazing. So in depth. Making you sweat that if Lynette kills off one of them you will find her.
Torture, mind control, mentally twisting plot line and the best characters ever how could you not read this book. Lynette says words have power. And wow was she right. The words she wrote made my day. After a mentally draining day, laying in my bed and finishing this book was the best end of the day I could ask for and I am devastated this series has ended, my adventures with Cami, Alyssa, Ward and all the other characters I fell in love with.
All I can say is that Lynette Noni has done it again. Her words more than any have power. And her books have shaped my life.
So thank you Lynette for writing this master piece and every other to come.
