I really hope this grows in popularity in the YA community, because it definitely deserves it. I found this fast paced in the best possible way, and with twists and turns that were perfectly set up to make the plot engaging without feeling far-fetched. This book introduced new characters from the first, many of which I really liked - all I can say is, I want a spin off with Riley and a certain other character. No spoilers, but if you've read it, you know who I mean!

Also, I read Whisper a good month ago, and I read at least a full series before picking this one back up, but I didn't feel really lost or anything in terms of needing to relearn the plot - things were explained well without feeling like they were being spoonfed or anything. Really just all around great!

this book suffered from severe sci-fi sequel syndrome but i can’t hate it so here we are. i just don’t get how in sci-fi the protagonist goes from being a logical person in the first book and then just gets ... not very smart in the sequel(s)?? i spent 200 pages waiting for lyss to put everything together but i was interested nonetheless.

concluded everything really nicely and the twists were top notch. overall the duology was probably 3.5

revised rating from 3.5 to 3 stars

Okay, okay, okay. So Whisper was one of my absolute most favourite books of last year. I got to read an advanced reader copy as a read now on Net Galley, and I absolutely loved it. It was the first Lynette Noni book I had ever read (I do now own The Medoran Chronicles, even if I haven’t read them yet – soon, I will get there soon!).

So when I was given an early copy of Weapon. Well, I’m positive that only dogs could have heard the high-pitched squeal that came from me.

Weapon picks up immediately where Whisper ended, and even though the book is only set over the course of three days, a lot happens. And I mean a lot.

I don’t want to go into too much detail for spoiler-y reasons, as the book only came out on the 5th. But there is a lot that happens. So many questions were answered, and so many more were created, but thankfully, every single question was answered within the span of this novel.

I am a little disappointed that this is the end of what I had hoped to be an incredible series. I wish that there had been another 50 pages at the end to tie up what I feel like were loose ends, but on the whole, this story lived up to the hype I had created in my mind, which I am eternally grateful for.

An easy 5/5 stars from me.

A good conclusion to the story set up in Whisper.
Overall I found the duology to be a clever and well-crafted story, I thought the two books worked well together and I enjoyed the characters.

so many plot twists, so much drama!! this book was such a rollercoaster, literally every page was a new puzzle piece in the story. there was sooo much tension, i found myself having to put down the book on a couple of occasions because it was all so much!! all i can say is i'm sad the duology is over, hopefully we can see more of this story in the future.
