This book has motivated me to really get back into yoga in a more meaningful way. For the past year or so I’ve mostly been doing restorative bedtime yoga, but I worked my way through all the sequences in this book and feel like I’m really ready to finally get back into a regular yoga practice. I also recently read Jessamyn Stanley’s newer book, and I’ve really become a fan. I love her refreshing approach to yoga; she does truly make it feel like yoga is for everyone.

This book was a recommended reading for my Yoga Teacher Training. As a Black woman, I am often taken back by the lack of representation in skin color and body sizes and abilities in the yoga world. Guiding us through yoga philosophy, history, and business, while using raw and unfiltered language, I fell in love with this book. Jessamyn did an amazing job with this piece

I’ll read this word for word eventually, but I wanted a guide for specific poses and to support the author. I will return to this eventually.

A much needed entry in self-love, self-care, self-acceptance. Inspiring that she's local-to-me. I will definitely use this book during practice.

If you have ever wondered if you have the wrong body or attitude or life for yoga, read this. I will definitely be purchasing this to use as a reference and to re-read as needed.
