Holy shit, the author really grew into the story. The not as many interludes made it more fun for the plottwists and gave you more time with the main characters.
I love the reveal of the cover and when it actually happens in the story, because it's such a beautiful cover and when it's first mentioned as a dream i thought that it was going to be just that. So when it became real, as if it was a vision instead of a memory, i was very excited. And the Haru reveal to conspire against the emperial Princess and her crafter, OMG, amazing!
Himura really had a redemption arc in this part of the story and it will need to be completed in the next book, because it certainly is not over and there are still grudges left between him and Kurara.
Also, Kurara claiming her new name back is AWESOME. Especially when we later learn that Haru gave her the new name and that her name is his hopes and dreams for her.
Geez, i could talk about this book forever, or at least for hours.
Though i would wish for there to be a hardcover of this with a very cool map inside, cause this cover artist has /potential/!

Another fantastic read. The characters are once again fully fleshed-out and a delight to read about, even the ones that aren't on the pages for very long. The worldbuilding is once again excellent, building on what we learned in the first book while also adding new information.

I felt like this book was a faster read than the first one, but that may have been because one, I was reading it digitally instead of physically, and two, there were more things happening because we didn't have to learn how the world worked. That's not to say that it was rushed- everything was well-paced and made sense. I'm very much looking forward to the next book. Especially since
Himura is back. He had such good character development in this book, and i want to see how he and Kurara work together.

If you are into war and origami then this is the perfect book for you. Beautifully written and the cover is gorgeous. This is the second book in the series and worth the read.

Perfect for escapism. Definitely a 2nd book in a trilogy, that does not suffer from 2nd-book-syndrome. Looking forward for the finale.
