This book was not at all what I expected, but it was exactly what I needed. A very engaging and thought provoking story that had me gripped if not from page 1 then from chapter 2.

Hashimi did not disappoint me at all! And as usual, she tells Afghan story from another overlooked angle. I love that she allows her medical knowledge shine in Sitara’ character.

There were chapters I didn’t find as powerful as others and many of them were in the second part after Sitara moved to America but Sparks like Stars is well written, well researched and rhythmic.
I throughly enjoyed it!
