I am embarrassed to admit that this is the first non-IPB/IH book I've read by Ruby Dixon... I am now officially back in my Ruby Dixon Era.

I walked in with very little knowledge about this book, save that it was recommended on tiktok and that it's spicy... and whew. I had all of the emotions on this one. It's a short read, and now I'm wanting to read everything Ruby has ever written.

5/5 stars, sparked joy, would read it again.

This book had me blushing every minute

So much yaaaasssss

I loved this story so hard. Sweet, steamy and heartfelt, The King's Spinster Bride was everything I love in a RD read and more.

2.5 Stars

I like the trope where the guy is all in on the relationship with one girl, waiting for her for years. But my god this was dirty. It was a novella written for the sole purpose of writing sex scenes. I wish there was more story in there.

If you're looking for a short, novella-length romantic story, this one certainly fits the bill. It was sweet, though the spice was "eh, it's there" kind of material. I did enjoy the pairing, though, considering their shared history, and as far as romances go, it was endearing.

Some important notes that bear mentioning: first, reviews are highly subjective, including mine. My opinion is meant to give an overview of what I saw/felt when I read it (and how it may or may not have made my brain explode). What I see might not be what you see, and what I like (or don't) might not be what you enjoy, which is just fine. My advice to anyone looking into a book? Read the premise, and if it interests you enough, give it a chance and form your own opinion.
