Is it cheating when you try and get your GR reading goal by reading a bunch of romance novellas in December? I don't care, I'm having a great time. This was fun. Exactly what I was expecting and all I wanted from it.
I don't know yet if I'll be reading the actual series of books this is a prequel novella to, but I'm not complaining about having read it.

Okay this was better than expected.
It’s an older woman-younger man romance but the guy is completely alphalicious. They don’t see each other for 16 years but he hasn’t forgotten about the young woman who saved his life.

I was stunned to find this erotica genuinely sweet. I don't know maybe it's because I haven't read much erotica compared to romance novels but the ones I had read were rougher and less sweet. This one was rough but had plenty of light moments of compassion and love for a short novella.

This book (novella?) was such a fun little read. I absolutely loved how much Mathior loved Halla and how unashamedly he expressed his desire for her.

Mathior and Halla were so precious. I really liked this story. I would really like to have seen more of what was going on around them since it seems like their situation would be much more contentious than it came across in the story, but it was still a really sweet story.
