Amazing novella I read for SmutAthon
It had a good plot with some nice worldbuilding, amazing steamy scenes and an adorable couple. I'll admit it was a bit instalovey at times but i really enjoyed this book and will be reading more by Ruby Dixon

I really enjoyed this royal romance. The hero and heroine have been secretly betrothed for over a decade when the heroine's father signed over his great fortune to the new king so that he could turn the tide on their failing kingdom. The betrothed couple have never actually interacted with each other and the heroine is about ready to jump ship. I really loved how the heroine was a freaking BOSS. She's a practical woman who has been preparing for her entire adult life to be queen and was a skilled badass. I totally bought the king's insta-love because she's amazing.

This was so ridiculously what you expect when you say 'Barbarian Romance' that I was giggling the whole way through, and I still enjoyed it. In fact I laughed out loud at least twice at genuinely funny lines. I'd like more plot - I'm in these books for the stories and happy endings, not the sex, but it was a good sampler of the author. I'll definitely be getting to more of her work.

Not the best choice of voice actors for this one—neither of them really suited the characters, imho— but still enjoyable for times when I'm not able to read a physical copy.
