For this being the main ending to the series, I thought it ended well. There were some minor qualms I had (the Barabas POV journal entry happened in one book and then never again!) but overall solid.
Knowing now that the world continues (both with Julie's series and the new Wilmington arc for Kate, plus Hugh's due for another book as well) it makes sense that it felt rather abrupt. There were clue about what happened in the time between what happened but definite gaps and it seems like they plan to fill in some of those gaps.
