Poetry disguised as a time traveling, enemies to lovers story. I can see why it won a bunch of rewards and I can see why it has a sub 4 star rating. Personally, I loved it.

This was a fascinating concept and an impressive feat. The writing did feel about 2% too abstract for me, but if I glazed my focus a bit, my subconscious reading brain did all the translation work.

Honestly, at first I had a hard time getting what the book was about during the first few pages. But once I did? I loterally gasped.

“Dearest, deepest Blue— At the end as at the start, and through all the in-betweens, I love you.”

Blue and Red’s yearning for each other through their letters is insane. The romance is subtle, but wow, it hits hard.

For a book that’s only about 200 pages, there’s a ton of words packed in. Still, after finishing it, I’m torn. I want more of it, but I also think it’s a perfect ending.

Wrapping up my Sapphic September with this book was a great call. Probably my favorite sapphic read so far.
