The second book starts off with a bang, and Syd is basically banging on the pearly gates to get her champion (go girl go!). She faced so many trials in this book, from Heaven, to rogue ancient villains, Hell, and who knows what else....poor girl. But I don't feel too bad because her four champions keep her very....satisfied.

The ending of this book was BRUTAL and I think if I didn't have the next book immediately I would have thrown a fit. Another perfectly saucy and well written book by C!

Shadows Smolder is the 2nd book in the Wings of Darkness + Light. Syd had a major glo-up from the last book. She went from not knowing who she was and where she fit in to a kick ass boss. While she learned how to use her new powers, She learns more about her origins. The war between heaven and hell is not just black and white. There are other sinister motives involved, key players who have an agenda.

I was sooo glad that Cay was finally given more of a spotlight. I really loved him in the first one and was not disappointed. I am not okay after that cliffhanger

Every time I thought I had it figured out, there was another plot twist!! I am loving these characters. I've never read a book with a world like this before, so it's been so much fun to read about! We travel all over the place with the FMC, even to heaven!
This book is extra spicy and a great "why choose?"

Binge read!

Syd's story continued to steal my attention and make me feel like I had to keep reading it. When I had to walk away the story is in my head.

The mystery continues to unfold with question after question that I hope to get answers too in the next book

What

This book is so jam packed with action (of all kind). I could not put it down. And the ending? What is going on?

The series is very end times like and that's just too overwhelming for me.

Well I hate to stop a midway but I’m calling it here. We’re 2/3 of the way done with this series and there are still so many questions. I’m also growing increasingly bored of the FMC, who mirrors the FMC in Four Psychos (and not in a good way). Now that Syd has learned more about who she is and what she is made to do, she’s acting way too arrogant for my taste.
