To be honest, I have borrowed his "sled" metaphor and use it often with my patients. A really interesting book on brain plasticity.

Quite a hard book to read/sustain attention with but has really interesting stories and lots to learn in there. A good book, just found it a bit of a harder read as I’m not great with non-fiction.

I found this book to be very enjoyable and easy to read. It's all about brain plasticity, brain recovery stories and those scientists working on neuroplasticity.

Never underestimate your brain power!

Amazing- particularly if you have an education in neuroscience and/or psychology, although this book is written to cater to all audiences I feel, because Doidge explains every concept he introduces that the non-science reader may not be aware of. He also has a very entertaining, easy-to-follow way of writing and is as much a storyteller as he is a scientist - I devoured this non-fiction book in 5 days because it was so interesting. If you are fascinated by the brain, read this book. If you want to learn more about the brain, read this book. As someone with 5 years of education in neuroscience and psychology, this book only deepened my appreciation for the incredible organ that is the brain and the amazing feats it is capable of achieving - so don’t be put off reading it even if you know quite a bit about neuroplasticity already! I found myself nodding many times throughout the book and it was cool to read about the scientists, philosophers and psychologists I learned about in my degree. When I wasn’t nodding, I was gaping in awe or smiling in sheer appreciation for the brilliant people discussed in this book- subjects and researchers alike. This book was also incredibly inspiring for me to achieve more and give more to humanity. Phenomenal!!

Those with a low tolerance for animal cruelty may want to skip this book. The descriptions of experiments made me put down the book for several weeks.
