The kind of book my mammy would like. Flew through it. Didnt like any of the characters. What’s there to be said for a little divorce every so often?

I loved this book. Debbie really draws you into the story and the characters making you want to know more about them. Cedar Cove sounds like a fantastic place to live or just to go for a vacation. This book was one of the first Debbie Macomber books I read and I have recommended it to so many people.
If you want to be drawn in and be made welcome this is the book to reach for.

I went out and bought this entire series after watching seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. The show was really good but the books are of course better. The story lines had a lot more differences than I thought they would. Like how Olivia has another son and I got the back story to Grace's divorce. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This is an ok book. It's not bad by any means but, it's not GREAT, either. One of my biggest pet peeves in books is when authors don't use realistic dialogue. It drives me crazy. For example: "Mother, why didn't you call me"? or "I just want to enjoy this sunset. Oh Mark, isn't it beautiful"?

Who talks like that? Nobody I know, that's for sure.

I'm also a little disconcerted about the underlying theme of "divorce" in this first novel in the series, as well as just about ALL of the female characters being unable to make a single emotional decision on their own.

Regardless, it was a nice afternoon read. As I was given (almost) the entire series in paperback, I plan to read them all. I'm hoping that most of the characters become more human as we go on.

Listening to these books with my boyfriend. We are enjoying the old fashion speak and the loooong descriptions about every little thing that they do.

Small town boomers and navy wives. Not my thing

I really didn't think I was going to enjoy this. I'd tried reading Debbie Macomber before and really hadn't cared for her style. But this was only $0.99 for the Kindle edition at the time, so I thought I'd give it a shot. And while there are parts that make me roll my eyes, I did find that I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next. At any rate, decent light fare for my more-often-than-not horrendous public transit commutes.

that the book is confusing in the begin then calms down when you go through the rest of the book. The book is really great!

My mom and sister have recommended these books to me several times and I bought the first 6 as one book on my kindle. This was the perfect book for me as I needed something light and fun but at the same time something to think about. Can't wait to read #2!
