I wasn't sure about this series at first. It is different from the author's usual, and is different from Christians suspense in general.
But it didn't take me long to get into this series and love it.

And this, #7, is the best one yet, in my not-so-humble-opinion. I do think each book gets better because in a series of this type, there is so much more time to develop the main character. Here we are at 7 books with Kenna being the main character in the whole series, so Phillips has a lot of time and pages to develop her. And in this one, she works on developing her Christian experience more.

There was a day this confirmed bachelor groaned at romance, but now I enjoy it....and if Kenna and Jax's relationship went any slower, it would go backwards. Yet, with Kenna's past, the author can't just toss her into a romance that has her getting married and riding off into the sunset at the end of the first book. So it is a slow boil. A very slow boil. :)

Phillips has created a very unique, flawed, and likable character in Kenna, and a great male character to offset her. Jax is just as awesome, though he doesn't get as much page time as Kenna.

Awesome read. And this is definitely a series you need to read in order.
